Sandi Frey placed 3rd at the 2009 World Cow Chip Throw, Saturday, April 18 in Beaver, Oklahoma.Sandi made the long trip down to Oklahoma to represent Tilden and Nebraska. She had a good throw of 84'7 to place her 3rd out of 16 Women competitors. 1st place went to Teri Pratt Welty of Oklahoma at 138'4" and 2nd place went to Dana Martin of Oklahoma with a throw of 113'2". Unfortunately, Craig Taylor, Tilden's Men's Champion, was unable to attend due to illness.

Upcoming events at the library
Annual "Cute Baby Contest"
The Raymond A. Whitwer Tilden Public Library is sponsoring the popular 3rd Annual Cute Baby Contest. It will run from Monday, January 18, 2010 until Friday, February 19, 2010 at the library.
Photos are to be submitted to the library by Friday, January 15, 2010. Photos must be 4x6 inches or smaller. Prizes will be awarded in the following age groups: 0-12 months; 13 months - 2years; 25 months-3 years. All photos may be picked up at the library following the contest.
As in past years, the baby pictures will be displayed on jars in the library. People will “vote” for their favorite baby by placing money in that baby's jar The baby from each age group whose jar has the most money at the end of the contest will be named the winner and receive a prize. Every baby will be recognized for participating. The money raised will be used for the library totes given to new babies in town.
